Neil came to The Pitt in 2021 after spending a decade as a sports performance coach at varying levels of the NCAA. Neil serves as the Coaching Director for The Pitt and oversees the development of all training programs as well as the education of the Performance Staff.
Prior to his move to Montana, Neil served as the Assistant Director of Sports Performance at Wingate University in North Carolina. While at Wingate, Neil oversaw the development and implementation of strength and conditioning programs for over 20 varsity sports, including the 2021 NCAA Division II National Champion Bulldog Baseball team and the 2021 NCAA Division II Final Four Lacrosse team.
Neil works will all demographics but his passion lies in working with athletes ranging from the high school to IIHF and Olympic levels. In addition to Wingate University, his experience has seen him at numerous other universities including University of North Carolina- Greensboro, University of Colorado-Boulder, and Michigan Technological University.
Along with his coaching experience, Neil earned his Master’s degree in Kinesiology from Michigan Technological University and currently serves as a course instructor at Montana State University where he teaches Introduction to Exercise Science as well as Physical Fitness Program Design and Delivery. Neil is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association, a USA Weightlifting Level 1 Coach, and is certified in the Barbell Rehab Method.
